Sooooo, Now What Do I do?
It’s easy to feel as if you’re backed in to a corner. Do you think you’ve made one decision too many to push you past the point of no return? I understand how that feels. Scary! But, just because you feel that way or think that is the case, does not mean it’s true.
I can tell you that God does allow U-Turns, and in fact, my personal experience will confirm that HE will guide and direct your life as you choose to do what is needed to get on track. Look in the Bible at the book of Mathew, chapter 11, verses 28 to 30 Jesus says, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me---watch how I do it. Learn the rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (The Message, modern version)
Does the idea of trusting God intrigue, but confuse you? Do you wonder how a new start is possible? Most of the staff and volunteers at Pregnancy & Family Resource Center have made our share of poor choices which is one reason why it is our joy to serve our community. We’ve experienced our own desperate times, and yet here we are all in one piece now and stronger than ever for our experiences.
An unplanned pregnancy may feel like the end of your life. Remember--- feelings are powerful, but are not always true. An unplanned baby on the way isn’t an easy situation to deal with by any means. Now is the perfect opportunity to begin to make positive and healthy choices which will help you to head in a more positive direction.
Our advocates are trained to help you recognize the places along your journey where you made a uniformed choice. Often what we think is good results in one big, hurtful mess. As you meet each time you will discover ways to begin to work through the mistakes even if it means changing the people you hang out with or your living environment. Change is seldom easy, but once we choose to do a hard thing we find the satisfaction and freedom we gain is worth it.
No one will attempt to force you to make a choice or decision. We are here to tell you the truth, give you the facts and support you while you work through the hard stuff. You have more options than you realize, and it doesn’t ever cost you a dime to investigate. Ignorance is not bliss. Your future depends upon your choices today and tomorrow and the day after. One wise choice after another can guarantee the best possible outcome and a brighter future for your family. Use what you think is the worst thing ever to begin again.
I love this anonymous quote: “She thought she could, so she did.”
You can do this…and we are here for you.
